The land

The cabin is located on the traditional lands of the Jinibara and Kabi Kabi people. The property is 16 acres of 'dry schlerophyll forest which was harvested over 100 years ago. The trees you see now are mostly around 100 years old and are home to lots of wildlife. The land is state mapped protected Koala habitat. They frequent the property so look up and you might see one!

The view

The mountain views from Donnington Ridge in Booroobin are nothing short of breathtaking. With sweeping vistas that evoke a true sense of freedom, you'll feel as though you're on top of the world. The views are especially magical at sunrise and sunset, when the landscape is bathed in golden light, creating an unforgettable atmosphere. It’s the perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection, offering a truly outstanding experience that connects you to nature.

Soaking & swimming

Enjoy the outdoor bath, perfectly positioned to soak in the stunning mountain views. It’s the ideal spot to unwind after a day of adventure. And for a fun and refreshing swim, head down to the nearby Stanley River, where crystal-clear swimming holes await. Our favourite spot is just before the creek crossing—perfect for kids to cool off. Remember to bring waterproof shoes for comfort, and beach towels are provided in the mudroom for your convenience

Outdoor cooking

Whether you're grilling or baking, outdoor cooking here is an experience to savor. Donnington Ridge offers a variety of outdoor cooking options to enhance your stay. The gas-fired pizza oven is perfect for creating delicious, crispy pizzas. In addition, enjoy cooking with our schwenker, camp oven, and BBQ, each offering a unique way to prepare meals while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful surroundings.

Wildlife

We are really lucky to have regular sightings of wallabies, goannas and even koalas from time to time! Being a bush property, the odd snake shows up - but they tend to move away quickly. If not and it is in your way please let us know. We recommend you wear shoes outside - from time to time we get leeches and jumping ants. We have gumboots in the mudroom, feel free to use them!
